After I hit the ground, the advice hit just as fast.
Sell her.
Keep her.
Get a different horse.
Lease her out and move on.
I listened. I prayed. I thought long and hard.
This week’s Weekly Buzz is about the decision I’ve made for Bee, for myself, and for what comes next.
Spoiler… we’re not done yet.

I left town for the weekend.
Bee stayed home. She was completely fine.
Thanks to a steady stream of photo updates from my barn friend Connie, I got to see her grazing, relaxing… and drinking from the pond. Yes, the pond. Apparently the sparkling clean troughs at EO are not rustic enough.
Meanwhile, my ribs are still reminding me of her every time I sneeze.
This week’s Weekly Buzz is about herd life, good barn friends, and the humbling realization that Bee did just fine without me.

Scrolling Hobby Lobby.
Wandering Pottery Barn.
Side-eyeing West Elm.
Mentally redesigning Anthropologie.
And all I can think is…
“Well. That needs paint.”
Trays. Frames. Ornaments. Sports gear. Wood signs. Canvas. Glass. You name it.
If it can sit still long enough, I can probably personalize it.
This reel is basically a walking reminder that custom does not have to start custom. Sometimes it starts with a blank space and a good idea.
See something you’d love personalized? Send it to me. Let’s make it yours.

Vacation rule #1: You can take the girl out of Wise Market… but you apparently cannot take Wise Market out of the girl.
I’m in Naples, Florida celebrating a friend’s 60th birthday, fully committed to vacation mode, when I glance up at a bar window and spot a Cleveland Browns Sprite sticker.
And instantly think:
“Hey… I’ve painted that on a football.”
Normal people notice drink specials.
I notice potential custom orders in the wild.
Somewhere between birthday cocktails and Gulf views, it hit me how fun it is to see designs I’ve recreated pop up in unexpected places. From bar windows in Florida to hand-painted footballs headed to athletes, coaches, and die-hard fans across the country, inspiration really is everywhere.
Proof that once you start seeing custom possibilities… you never stop.
Now excuse me while I try very hard not to ask strangers if they need a personalized Browns football. 🏈😂

Most of you have never tightened a saddle on a horse.
But what happens in that moment can explain a lot about behavior.
Bee has been “cinchy,” which means she reacts when the saddle is tightened. It’s easy to call it sass.
It might not be sass.
In this Bonus Buzz, I break down what that means in plain language, why ulcers are incredibly common in horses, and what we’re doing about it.
Because sometimes what looks like attitude is actually stomach acid.

This week was the evaluation tour.
Trainer. Barrel racer. Experienced horseman.
Three different riders.
Same Bee.
The consensus? She’s athletic, powerful, and absolutely trainable.
Now the real question isn’t whether Bee can change. It’s whether I’m able to rise with her.
We’re heading to train with Sarah at her place. Month by month. Ride by ride. No rash decisions. Just intentional growth.
We believe she’s smart and teachable. I’m willing to put in the work. The only thing time will tell is whether I can grow to match wherever Bee’s ceiling ultimately is.
It’s not the end of our story.
It’s recalibration.

Three calm miles at 2.7 mph.
Then 21 seconds at 20.9 mph.
Open gate.
Emergency dismount.
CT scan.
Mild concussion.
A whole lot of humility.
This week’s Weekly Buzz is raw. Honest. A little embarrassing. A little funny. Very real.
Do I train her?
Do I sell her?
Or do I become the rider she needs?
God’s got me.
Today. Every day.

Two custom Galentines banners headed out for Spirit Xtreme Cheer 💗
These will be waiting in their hotel rooms as a little Valentine’s surprise for a team that works hard, cheers loud, and shows up for each other.
Galentines hits different when it’s your teammates. Early mornings. Long practices. Shared nerves. Shared wins. And now, a hotel room decked out just for them.
Every banner is hand-painted and made to match the team’s colors and vibe. Whether it’s senior night, state competition, Galentines, or just because, I love creating pieces that celebrate the moments in between the big ones.
To Spirit Xtreme Cheer: have the BEST weekend. Cheer big. Laugh loud. And take lots of pictures in front of those banners!

Needles. Teeth. A speculum that looks like it came from medieval times.
This week was Bee’s annual exam, complete with vaccinations and a dental that reminded me just how important equine oral health really is. Horses’ teeth continuously erupt throughout most of their lives, and when they don’t wear evenly, sharp enamel points can form, especially in the back where all that hay grinding happens.
Bee had some pretty sharp spots that were definitely due for attention. After sedation, a full exam, and a proper float, she’s back to chewing comfortably and feeling good.
We’re breaking down what actually happens during a dental exam, why sedation matters, what “floating” really means, and how routine oral care supports digestion, behavior, and long-term health.
If you’ve ever wondered what’s going on behind that medieval-looking mouth opener, this one’s for you.

THEY'RE DELIVERED!
14 basketballs.
11 pairs of shoes.
One very tight timeline.
What started as controlled chaos in my foyer is now boxed, wrapped, and out the door.
This one truly took a team. Payton painted backgrounds and traced templates so I could stay in the paint. Jim kept the flow moving, handing off balls for sealing and making sure nothing stalled. Even my neighbor Kitty got in on the action and sealed and relaced eleven pairs of shoes like a pro. Everyone had a role. Everyone showed up.
That’s the part people don’t always see. Not just the art. The orchestration. So I'm again publicly thanking them with such immense gratitude!
We can’t reveal who these were for, but I can say the organizer told me the recipients will be “thrilled.” That word never gets old.
Corporate teams, leadership groups, event planners… if you’re looking for a custom display piece or meaningful gift that actually feels personal, let’s talk.

Apparently jealousy is a hydration strategy.
Winter hydration matters, especially when cold weather makes horses less inclined to drink. After Bee decided her warm mash was suddenly unacceptable, an unexpected helper stepped in. Judy. Tall. Awkward. Beautifully maned. And very interested in Bee’s bucket.
What followed was a masterclass in herd dynamics, sibling rivalry energy, and a reminder that sometimes getting a horse to cooperate isn’t about changing the feed. It’s about changing the context.
Add in spa days with Miss Kitty, blanket drama, hard-earned horsemanship lessons, and one very opinionated mare, and you’ve got this week’s Weekly Buzz with Bee.

Behind the scenes of a BIG rush order.
11 pairs of basketball shoes.
14 basketballs.
One corporate event.
This kind of project usually comes with a 21-day runway for a single piece, not 25 items all at once. Prep photos only for now, but trust me, there’s a lot happening on this table, floor, foyer… pretty much everywhere. Boxes keep arriving daily and somehow we’re still making it work.
Huge shoutout to my daughter, Payton, for stepping in to help. She’s a veterinarian with true surgeon’s hands, which means straight lines, insane attention to detail, and zero tolerance for “good enough.” She gave up half of her day off to help me meet this deadline, and I’m incredibly grateful.
My husband Jim jumped in too, opening boxes, pumping up basketballs so they were ready for Payton’s arrival, and providing steady moral support. Even the dog, Indi, took her role seriously, offering oversight and quality control and laying between us as we painted.
This is what small business really looks like. Long days. Tight timelines. Family pitching in. And a whole lot of care poured into every single piece, even when you can’t share the final reveal.

Bee had a week. 🐴❄️
A sudden drop from the 50s to single digits, icy rain, frozen roads, and plenty of worried messages asking how she was doing. Bee is here to report that she is warm, fed, hydrated, and very much herself.
This week’s Weekly Buzz with Bee covers what extreme cold really means for horses, how their winter coats and hay keep them warm, why water matters more than you think, and the incredible barn crew who showed up every day to keep the horses safe and comfortable. It also includes an honest lesson about how even experienced horse people sometimes get things wrong, and how we keep learning anyway.
If you’ve ever wondered how horses handle cold snaps or found yourself worrying during winter weather, this one’s for you.

Sometimes I can’t share the finished piece.
But I can show you where it starts.
Blank Air Jordan high tops, waiting for a story.

Remember when we said, “One chapter wrapping up”?
Yeah… we might have spoken too soon. 🏀🔥
These Southlake Carroll Dragons seniors are still very much writing this chapter, and they’re doing it loud. Lady Dragon Basketball is 12–0 in District 4-6A, 26–1 on the season, and coming off a huge 58–44 win at Keller. They’ve got a three-game lead in the district standings with four games left in the regular season.
Turns out the mini basketballs weren’t a finale. They were fuel.
These hand-painted pieces still celebrate senior year, the early mornings, late nights, friendships, and wearing Dragon green with pride. But now they also celebrate grit, focus, and a team that keeps showing up and getting it done.
This chapter isn’t wrapping up yet. It’s still being written, one game at a time. And we’re all just lucky enough to watch it unfold.
Keep going, Lady Dragons. We see you. 🐉💚

Bee had a week. 🐴
A pedicure with growing pains, a couple days of meds, winter hydration negotiations, a blanket casualty, and the first two training sessions that reminded us learning never stops. There were opinions. Many of them.
This week’s Weekly Buzz with Bee covers what subtle soreness can look like in a horse, why winter hydration matters more than you think, what RepleniMash actually does, and why listening early beats reacting late. We also dive into our first two training sessions and the work of softening, patience, and getting better together.
Bee is feeling good, staying warm, drinking her water (even if she wears it), and very much supervising the process.
